Tandem t:slim X2 Insulin Pump with Dexcom G5 Mobile Integration Supply Update

Posted Mar 29, 2021.

As of 29th March 2021, AMSL Diabetes has discontinued the sale of the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Dexcom G5 Mobile Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) integration. This announcement does not affect the supply of the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Basal-IQ™ technology and any subsequent versions of the pump. Existing customers will still be supported throughout their warranty period by AMSL Diabetes.

Customers with the t:slim X2 insulin pump with Dexcom G5 Mobile CGM integration are strongly encouraged to update their pump software to version 6.4.1. This is the latest software available in Australia for the Basal-IQ technology. Basal-IQ technology utilises Dexcom G6 CGM to allow users to experience predictive low-glucose suspend technology to further support their diabetes management. Basal-IQ technology helps reduce the frequency and duration of low-glucose events by predicting glucose levels 30 minutes ahead and suspending insulin if they are expected to drop below 4.4 mmol/L, or if a CGM reading falls below 3.9 mmol/L. Basal-IQ technology is only compatible with Dexcom G6 CGM, the latest generation of Dexcom CGM.

Eligible t:slim X2 insulin pump users are now able to access fully subsidised Dexcom G6 CGM via the NDSS CGM Subsidy Initiative. For more information on the full eligibility criteria, please visit the NDSS website found here.
